State vaccine policies fracture along partisan lines

U.S. vaccine policies are  along party lines, with Democrat-led states pursuing policies at odds with those promulgated by the Health and Human Services Department, likely resulting in confusion and falling vaccination rates. Massachusetts set rules requiring health insurance companies to cover immunizations recommended by its health department. Washington, Oregon, California and Hawaii said they would provide 鈥渆vidence-based unified recommendations to their residents鈥欌 based on national medical organizations鈥 guidance. Some Republican-led states are loosening their requirements, with Florida set to end all vaccine mandates. The policy patchwork could confuse patients and physicians and lead to various insurance coverage policies, experts warn.
