CDC expands access to COVID-19 shots for pregnant women
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention access to COVID shots for pregnant women, with its recommending shared clinical decision-making under the 鈥減regnancy鈥 column. Previously, the schedule said there was 鈥渘o guidance/not applicable鈥 for pregnancy. In May, Health and Human Services dropped the CDC recommendation that healthy children and pregnant women should receive routine COVID shots. Meanwhile, the CDC vaccine advisory committee it would the safety and efficacy of the childhood vaccine schedule, including when children receive shots and possible risks linked to common vaccine ingredients.
