Senate confirms Susan Monarez as new CDC director
The Senate July 29 51-47 along party lines to confirm Susan Monarez as the new director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Monarez served as acting director of the agency from January through March before stepping down when she was chosen as the nominee for the director role.
