Study: Simulation-based learning may reduce stigma
Simulation-based learning is in teaching about stigma and marginalization in health care interactions with a variety of historically marginalized populations, according to a scoping study published in Nursing Outlook. The authors included 58 papers reporting results of 55 distinct studies. They found simulation-based learning shows promise in increasing awareness, confidence and widening perspectives in nursing students. The authors say more research, including longitudinal and experimental designs, is necessary to understand how simulation-based learning translates to behavior changes in clinical practice.
