Pollack testifies before House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee
Hospitals are committed to high-quality, accessible and affordable care, American Hospital Association President and CEO Rick Pollack the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee during a on lowering health care costs. He said hospitals are investing in preventive care and care coordination to help patients manage chronic conditions and avoid unnecessary hospitals visits. Hospitals are improving efficiency, embracing artificial intelligence to reduce administrative burden and redesigning how they deliver services. Among his proposals to lower health care costs, Pollack called for deploying intensive care coordination and patient navigation for high-need patients who comprise a disproportionate amount of care utilization and spending. He urged Congress to redesign regulatory structures and ensure adequate payment to facilitate hospital-at-home programs, remote patient monitoring and advanced telehealth. (AHA , 3/17/26)
