Nurse leader discusses Age-Friendly Health Systems initiative

In an American Hospital Association , AONL member Shannon Morton, DNP, RN, assistant vice president of patient care services at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, N.C., discusses the system’s foray into the Age-Friendly Health Systems initiative. She explains the infrastructure being developed and the difference it has made for the hospital’s aging population. The AHA is a partner in the Age-Friendly Health Systems, an  of the John A. Hartford Foundation and the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, to ensure older adults receive safe, evidence-based care focused on what matters to them.
