Chapter Achievement Award
The AONL Chapter Achievement Award recognizes an AONL Chapter that promotes nursing leadership and its influence in the areas of the advancement of nursing practice, patient safety, quality, recruitment and retention, or another priority initiative for that particular state/region, and can serve as a model for other states or regions with similar interests.
The nominee must be an AONL Chapter. Members of the AONL Board of Directors, staff and awards committee are not eligible to nominate an chapter.
Nomination Process
Any AONL member or nonmember may nominate an chapter for the award by submitting a form with supporting documentation for the submission criteria.
Description summarizing the chapter’s qualifications with respect to the award criteria listed in the application.
(1000 word maximum).
Letter of Recommendation demonstrating the chapter’s qualifications
(e.g. a letter from member, fellow coalition member, etc.).
Supporting materials demonstrating chapter’s work.
Supporting materials include an overview of a program, additional letters of recommendation, articles, etc.
Peer Review and Selection Process
The AONL Awards committee selects the winner by scoring applications using the submission criteria:
Demonstrates promotion and expertise in nursing practice.
Demonstrates effectiveness in improving patient safety and delivering quality nursing care.
Demonstrates the effective use of evidence-based practice to enhance or improve health care outcomes.
Collaborates effectively with other health care colleagues as evidenced through recruitment and retention successes.
Develops and implements strategies to improve nursing professional contributions to public policy.
Promotes the image of nursing and the nursing profession within the community.
